Carol Brodzinski, Susan Hayward, Eva Molenda – Ontario Salon Team

“I think we stay humble in our work, and we never worry about what other people are doing,” says Carol Brodzinski of Taz Hair Co., in Toronto.
Brodzinski says that although she thinks it’s “great” that Taz Hair Co. took home the award for Ontario Salon Team, her group never enters awards with the expectation of winning. “We’ve always felt that we were a great team, but I think everyone [in the industry] is talented,” says Brodzinski.
From crimps to cuts with asymmetrical edges, Brodzinski says that her team was inspired to create styles for the collection that were as diverse as the models sporting them. “A lot of the time it’s the model [that inspires us] and we’re always flipping through fashion magazines [for inspiration],” she says. “So there’s a little bit of everything involved.”
And what also drives this group, is the bond they have developed as a salon team. “I’m confident in our relationship with each other,” says Brodzinski. “We try to do what we do to the best of our abilities and we try to inspire each other every day.”
